Niceness as a Communication and Life Strategy. |
|
 |
|
Joey Asher
President's
Perspective |
I received a lesson in effective communication and
lifestyle improvement recently in New Hampshire where I
was consulting with a large flooring company. I was
about to have breakfast with Jim, a VP and legendary
flooring salesman for over 30 years.
Walking to our table, Jim stopped to chat with the
hostess, giving her a hug. He had stayed at this hotel
so often that he had become friends. He was asking about
her family in Arkansas. “I’ve never seen anyone chat
with more people than you, Jim,” I said.

Medhurst said when interviewed for a recent story published in USA
TODAY.

Public Speaking Tip from Johnny Cash. |
|
“After about three lessons, the voice teacher said, "Don't take
voice lessons. Do it your way."”
Those are the words of Johnny Cash. He had a unique singing style.
Fortunately, his voice teacher recognized that style and decided to
leave it alone.
At Speechworks, we work hard to help our clients
identify and bring out their own best speaking styles.
Once we find that great style, we're going to work hard to
help you hone that style and use it well.

Cool Word of the Month: Compunicate. |
|
When you are in the same room with someone, each on
separate computers, and you talk via Instant Messenger
instead of speaking to them out loud, in person
I hate it when I’m sitting
right next to you and you prefer to compunicate with me
rather than just leaning over and talking out loud. |
